The Las Cruces Ukes is a community group of ukulele enthusiasts based in Las Cruces, New Mexico. We are a non-profit organization with the goal of sharing the love of ukulele music throughout our community. As part of that mission, we host free adult practices every week with Strum for Fun and performance groups, and have Las Cruces Ukes Teen Club practices weekly during the school year. We also perform at a wide range of events in the area, having performed 90 times since our first gig in 2014.
To help spread that ukulele love even farther, we host the annual Las Cruces UkeFest, which includes a concert, which is open to the non-ukulele-playing public, workshops, a jam session, open mic, vendors, a drawing, and lots of fun. Las Cruces UkeFest 2019 is May 17 – 19 at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum, featuring instructor/performers Victoria Vox, Abe Lagrimas, Jr., Kevin Carroll, and husband-and-wife team the Quiet American, AKA Nicole and Aaron Keim. The Friday evening concert will be held at the Atkinson Recital Hall at NMSU. Learn more at www.lascrucesukefest.com.
